TITLE: SR. SYSTEMS SECURITY ENGINEER

STATUS: FULL-TIME

LOCATION: WASHINGTON, DC

Position Requirements:

The Person filling this position will be a cyber-security leader with a broad information security background that includes extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of Security Controls Assessment (SCA) and Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A). Additionally, this person will lead a small team in performing software and data security assessments, change management and tracking, user access request tracking and management, and information security solutions development support. His/her primary duties will include daily communication with the customer, preparation and routing of assessment memoranda, performing vulnerability and compliance scans on enterprise assets, preparation of exceptions and POA&Ms, updating of change request tickets, assisting engineers with implementation of missing controls, preparation and routing of System Assessment Reports (SARs), and all activities associated with SA&A from the assisting with the selection of controls to the preparation of the SA&A package for approval. The person will lead areas such as security, monitoring, task automation, continuous integration, deployments and performance tuning. He/she will attend the weekly Change Control Board meeting and will attend and lead the presentation of the VMD Weekly Status Report at the weekly status meeting.

The person filling this position will be an Information Security Professional with broad overall cyber-security experience and depth in the areas of MS Windows and Linux security assessment and hardening. He/she will possess knowledge and experience in the areas of network security, database security, threat assessment, and risk management, cyber-security monitoring, incident response, and auditing. He/she will have a strong technical background in one or more of the following: system administration, network administration, database administration, mobile device management and/or access control systems.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience performing and leading SCA, SA&A, Vulnerability Assessment/Scanning, Compliance Testing/Scanning, Penetration Testing, Software Assessment, Change Control/Mgt., NIST/FIPS information security standards and checklists.
  • Current knowledge and experience with computer, network, database, and mobile device threats.
  • Extensive experience with security and hardening of Linux and MS Windows desktop and server platforms, and experience with security of web applications, databases, and mobile device systems.
  • Experience with data-intensive distributed applications platforms and capabilities.
  • Experience with networking concepts, protocols and technologies.
  • 6+ years of professional cyber-security experience.
  • Industry-recognized certifications to back up the knowledge and experience.
  • Understanding of the System Development Life Cycle.

TITLE: SENIOR UNIX ADMINISTRATOR

STATUS: FULL-TIME

LOCATION: Radford,VA

Position Requirements:

This position is for a Systems Administrator for a mixed and growing environment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris UNIX. This position will work with the existing UNIX team to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support servers for a mixed customer environment. This position will plan, execute and implement new system hardware and software and create and maintain team technical instructions, operating procedures and policies as needed. This position will need to be adept at monitoring and tuning system performance, ongoing operation of the servers, hardening of the servers and reporting of the overall security and operational status. The position will also recommend improvements to the enterprise, and manage new software/hardware integrations when required. The position will need excellent communication and team skills. This position will provide support towards the lifecycle of a mixed environment of vendor equipment in the datacenter to include firmware version control and periodic preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and preferably 7 administration, shell scripting, networking concepts (VLANs, routing, firewalls, subnetting)
  • Familiarity with server virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware), SAN/storage concepts (LUNs, HBAs), logical volume management, NFS, SNMP, sftp, and SMTP
  • Working knowledge of OS security best practices
  • Experience configuring/managing/updating large groups of servers, and OS firewall configurations
  • Experience with the Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) process
  • Experience configuring/managing/updating large groups of servers.

TITLE: SQL SERVER DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

STATUS: FULL-TIME

LOCATION: Radford,VA

Position Requirements:

This position is for a Microsoft SQL Server database administrator. The successful candidate will maintain SQL Server database environments in an enterprise environment consisting of approximately 800 Windows servers. This position will be responsible for development and sustainment of Windows Server 2012 database clusters and migration of various disparate SQL Server environments onto new clusters. The successful candidate will also standardize, consolidate, and optimize the existing SQL Server environments and monitor and maintain database performance. The successful candidate will also adhere to ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices for Change Management, collaborate with internal and external customers to gather requirements for special processing, and work and track issues to resolution using an in-house ticket system.

  • Responsible for design, installation, configuration, security, and maintenance of highly available enterprise database systems
  • Monitor backup jobs on all enterprise databases and perform routine disaster recovery scenarios
  • Troubleshoot and maintain database performance, including the proposal of short term fixes, long term solutions, and the regular scheduling of index maintenance and database integrity checks
  • Establish and maintain database policies and standards
  • Generate database schema definitions and modifications as required
  • Refresh data from one environment to another at the request of the application development staff
  • Develop, follow, and maintain in-house documentation for repeatable processes, including database feature installation, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution

Qualifications

  • Five or more years experience with Windows Server 2008 R2 (and above) and Microsoft Failover Clusters.

Looking for a Content Management Technical Consultant to lead the definition, design, build, test, and deployment of systems and software for a federal program, working consultatively with key stakeholders.
